Precision’s propitiatory blend Arto-Velox™, contains protease systemic enzymes that have been shown to help cleanse free radicals and toxins from soft tissues along with increasing over-all circulation and supporting the inflammation process. By normalizing that fibrin in the blood it has shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and pain.

Every batch of Arto-Velox is tested by a third party lab for activity levels.

Gluclosamine is it a precursor for chondroitin sulfate and other glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) found in articular cartilage. It is known to supply the basic building blocks for the production of new, healthy tissue. It is also believed glucosamine has the ability to block enzymes and mediators that lead to cartilage breakdown. PJS contains Glucosamine HCI. Glucosamine HCI molecule ultimately provides 80% of its weight in glucosamine compared to other glucosamines that provides only 50%-60%.

Chondroitin sulfate is a major structural component of cartilage, bone, and connective tissues. It is known to suppress damaging enzymes, and provide protein chains for cartilage development and hydration.

It is an important component of both the cartilage itself and the joint fluid. Hyaluronic acid is particularly good for controlling pain, heat, and swelling. It is formulated to help cushion the joints from impact, lubricate joints, protect the joints from inflammation, and may help repair damaged joint tissue.

Collagen is a protein that forms the structural framework for all connective tissues in the body, including bone and cartilage. Hydrolyzed collagen is collagen that has been purified and also broken down into smaller protein units for easier digestion and absorption. It has naturally occurring amounts of glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid, but the benefit is believed to come from the connective tissue-specific protein and amino acids.

Proper mineralization for strong, healthy joints, tissue and bones is key. In today’s environment our ground is depleted in the much needed minerals that support healthy bone structure. Our equine athletes struggle to get the proper amount of mineral nutrients from their hay and pastures that they did fifty years ago. Without proper nutrients, the equine loses the strength and integrity of its bones, tissues and joints.

Magnesium effects the nervous and cardio-vascular systems. It relaxes muscles by dilating the blood vessels and is key in the proper absorption of calcium. It also slows down the absorption of sugars in the digestive system.

In addition to bone formation/strength, calcium is important for several vital metabolic functions in the body including:

  • Muscle contraction (“calcium pump”)
  • Skeletal muscle for locomotion
  • Heart muscle to pump blood efficiently
  • Smooth muscle, such as within the gastrointestinal tract for normal “gut motility” and digestion
  • Nerve conduction
  • Other specific metabolic reactions (blood clotting, normal cell membrane function, glandular secretion, temperature regulation, regulating activity of many enzymes, and cellular activity)

The importance of calcium to the performance horse includes normal functioning of the metabolism, the conduction of impulses along the nerves to muscle, the contraction of leg and body muscles for exercise, the contraction of the heart muscle for pumping blood, the contraction of the diaphragm for breathing, the functioning of the GI muscle for digestion. Calcium also plays a vital role in maintaining strong and healthy bones, cartilage and joints for peak performance without injury/breakdown.

(Mn) is essential for correct bone formation because it is a part of chondroitin sulfate. It is also required to activate a number of important enzymes, and is essential in the digestion.

Vitamin C’s main purpose is to facilitate the synthesis of collagen, the primary component of connective tissue. Additionally, Vitamin C works to help with reducing oxidation, or free-radicals destroying cells. Vitamin C is produced in the liver from glucose. If the vitamin C is ingested and not produced, it is broken down by gastrointestinal bacteria before reaching the bloodstream.

Precision Ingredients are FEI safe

The FEI or the Federation Equestrian International is the international governing body for all Olympic equestrian disciplines. The FEI has created the Prohibited Substance list to help athletes make sure their horses are all competing on equal grounds. Anti-doping regulations also ensure the safety of the equine athletes. FEI compliance is very importation to Precision Equine Solutions so we made sure our ingredients are all FEI safe! To see the list of FEI banned substances, click here!
